John HANNIGAN, after being discharged from the 99th Foot Reg't on 26 July 1818 at Montreal, moved to Murray Township. On 27 June 1825 he is again listed in the service of the Crown in the 5th Company of the 3rd Regt Northumberland Militia. He received land as a military emigrant and afterwards tookup this land, part of Lot 10, Conc 6, the east side of Rear Street in Campbellford on the River Trent. John married ca 1821 Anne BAMBER, daughter of Edward and Margaret BAMBER who emigrated to Murray in 1815 under orders from Earl BATHURST.
Edward BAMBER received land as a military emigrant, Lot N 1/2 of 5, Conc 9, of Murray, issued on 4 Feb 1824. His sons, Thomas and William BAMBER were also in the 5th Company of the 3rd Regt Northumberland Militia of Cramahe & Murray Township on 27 June 1825. Both John HANNIGAN and Edward BAMBER are listed in the 1851 Ontario Census.
