THOMAS CURTIS (abt 1760-1809) was recorded as having been in Percy Twp, Northumberland County from as early as 1804. Thomas first married Valonia (possibly Nelson) and had 4 children of that marriage:

3. Stephen b. 1788 in Onondaga Co ; m. Mary _____
4. Thankful b. 1792 in Onondaga Co
Thomas married Lucy Cheney after the death of Valonia probably between 1793 and 1796. Lucy was the mother of the five youngest Curtis children:
5. Comfort b. 1797 in Onondaga Co. NY; never married
6. Phoebe b. 1800 in Onondaga Co ; never married
7. John C. b 1801 in Upper Canada ; m. Lucretia _____
8. Thomas b. 1805 in Upper Canada ; m. 1) Mary Stickles
2) Mary Olcott
9. Hiram b. 1807 in Upper Canada; never married
Lucy also had three children from her first marriage to a Mr. Cummin/gs:
Mary "Polly" b. 1788,
David b. 1789
Benjamin b. 1791.
Lucy and two of her children are buried in the Curtis plot in Warkworth, Ontario along with many other Curtis family members.
JOHN C. CURTIS, listed as a prominent community member of Percy Twp. About 1822 John married Lucretia b. c1807.It is thought that Lucretia may have belonged to either the Leonard or Townsend family.
