Obituary Needed
My great-grandmother
Cynthia (Decker) WELLWOOD died at Cramahe Feb. 25, 1866 and is buried at
Colbourne. Her husband John V. WELLWOOD soon took his family and left for Michigan, where they appear to have spent the rest of their lives. I am interested to know as much as possible about their lives in Cramahe.
Is it possible to get an Obituary for Cynthia? How about accessibility
to Presbyterian Church Records ?

I am interested in two (inter-married) families who might be "pioneers" of this township, and was wondering if anyone knows more about them.
Henry NEWTON and his wife, Margaret (MILLS), emigrated from Midlothan Co,Scotland to Coburg in 1844, moving to lot 13, Concession 6, Hamilton Township some time later. Their daughter, Henrietta, married Robert, a son of ?
James EAGLESON and his wife, Susanna (JOHNSON), from County Down, Ireland
who emigated to Canada in May 1832 and settled on lot 23, Concession 6,Hamilton Twsp.
I have a fair amount of information on the EAGLESON family (names, dates, marriages, etc., but little on "activities" as pioneers), which I am willing to share. Anything - information or leads - you can provide would be appreciated! Please respond to: David FULLER at dsfuller@erols.com

In 1851 and 1861 Joseph DEFIELD lived in Murray Twp., Northumberland Co. He
married Sarah McNELL__ b. abt 1833 . By 1871 the family had moved Norfolk
Co. Some members of this family remained in the Northumberland Co. area.
Who were they? Also, what was the correct surname for Sarah, his wife?
There was also a Louis/Lewis DEFIELD in the Northumberland area who may be
older than Joseph or of the same generation.

I am searching for information on my family as follows: Great-Great-Great Grandparents
Martin and Susannah (Susan) KEELER who lived in Cramahe. Martin was born
in 1801 in the United States. Susannah was born in Ontario but I'm not
sure when/where. They had a number of children including: Mary, William,
James and Ann. They were Wesleyan Methodists.
Great-Great Grandparents
James KEELER (from above) married Adeline BUCKOUT Dec 17, 1861 in Cramahe.
James was born in Cramahe in approximately 1840 (not yet confirmed the
year). Adeline's parents were Henry and Nancy BUCKOUT (Episcopal
Methodists) and she was born in Brighton Township in 1846. James and
Adeline had many children before she passed away and I also know that James
married again. One of their children was Emma Edith Edna KEELER. She
later married William AVERY and they moved to Golden, BC and homesteaded
there. (They were my great-grandparents)
Any information on Martin & Susannah KEELER, James & Adeline KEELER or
Henry and Nancy BUCKOUT would be appreciated. I know they were all of
German descent originally. Henry and Martin were both born in the United
States so they may have immigrated together. They were both born around
the turn of the century; 1801 and 1800.

I am looking for Jonathan KELLOGG whom I believe was in Haldimand or
Colborne Twp around 1800-1810 or later. I don't have much to go on.
His wife, Anna REYNOLDS KELLOGG died 11 Jan 1855 in Gleason's Corners?
Haldimand Ont. I can't find it anywhere. My gggrandmother, Aurelia
KELLOGG was born 21 Nov 1803, I believe in Haldimand or Colborne. She
married either in Canada or NY to Almiron GRAVES 17 Dec 1821. My
ggrandfather was born in NY in 1835. After she married I don't think
she lived in Canada again. My ggrandfather, her son, always stated on
US census records his mother was born in Canada. Any help anyone could
give will be greatly appreciated. Jonathan KELLOGG supposedly still
owned property in Haldimand or Colborne in 1808.

I am researching my branch of the DOUGLAS Family, and so far have found that John DOUGLAS and his wife, Ann CRAIK, along with their children:
John, William, Nicholas (a girl), Margaret, Robert, and
Andrew--immigrated to Canada from Scotland (by way of Liverpool}.
Arriving Saint John, New Brunswick--May 28th , 1834.
After reviewing the "Canadian County Atlas Project", I found a listing
for "John DOUGLAS"---from-Scotland, business--Clerk Division Court (I
think this means a court clerk), year settled--1834, post
office--Warkworth, township--Percy, county--Northumberland.
Could this be my ggg-grandfather? Can anyone help me determine
if there is a connection-or not? Thankyou, Lori DOUGLAS of Vancouver Island at mcmann@uniserve.com
