James Stevenson (above) was my ggrandfathers first cousin...after spending their childhood in Fermanagh, the families came to Port Hope, then north to the Peterborough area, where James Stevenson seems to have been some sort of political superman, a long-time mayor of Peterborough and Federal Member of Parliament at the same time for two terms...in the year 2000 the Peterborough Examiner named James Stevenson (dead for 86 yrs.) as the Man of the Century in Peterborough...unfortunately it seems that the 'mold' for politicians of his caliber has long been broken...
