The 1866 Prince Edward County directory is an extremely valuable resource for locating the exact location of your ancestors, especially those in the townships, where Concession and Lot number are given. Town and village directories usually show street addresses. Examination of these directories often gives valuable clues as to family relationships, where properties are close to each other.
Townships with your pioneer ancestors names and locations recorded include Ameliasburgh, Athol, Hallowell, Hillier, Marysburgh and Sophiasburgh.
Professional men and tradesmen names are recorded in many of the various towns, villages and hamlets including Picton, Wellington, Cherry Valley, Consecon, Demorestville, Northport, Roblin's Mills, Rednersville and Milford.
Land registry records for individual properties may be available. Land registry records contain valuable information, particularily arrival/departure dates for your ancestors.
